On this date in 1982, The Alarm released their second single, "
Marching On". It was backed by "
Across The Border" and "
Lie Of The Land". All three tracks appeared on their 1983 debut self-titled EP. They had begun life as a punk band called The Toilets. Later, they were a mod-influenced band called Seventeen which is when they released their first record. As The Alarm, the Rhyl, Wales post-punk/new wave band disbanded in 1991, only to re-form recently.
