Berlusconi decides AC Milan will not sell Thiago Silva to PSG
The San Siro outfit have guaranteed that the highly-rated Brazilian defender will not leave the club with a statement on their website, as negotiations with PSG break down
PSG sporting director Leonardo had expressed doubt about the success of a move for Thiago Silva, and Milan have now guaranteed that the player will be staying at the club.
A statement on the club’s official website read: "The president Silvio Berlusconi has decided: Thiago Silva will stay at Milan.” Earlier on Thursday, Thiago Silva's agent stated that his client should be offered an improved contract if he is to stay at Milan, whom he joined from Fluminense in 2009 in a €10 million deal.
And Berlusconi added that, despite "an extraordinary offer", the club were determined not to sanction any move.
Berlusconi added: "We refused an offer of €46 million. My old Milanista heart made me say no."
"We didn't change our minds. We didn't want to sell the player, but we received an extraordinary offer from PSG."
Meanwhile, PSG have also issued a statement on their website saying that they have pulled out of negotiations for the 27-year-old.
