For Tuesday September 14th: Reshma Shetty: India's Sharon Tate? A Cool Japanese poster for FVK

Sorry I got in late tonight but here is the blog entry for the 14th:

I watched the show 'Royal Pains' this summer and I couldn't help but think that the beautiful Reshma Shetty looks like an Indian Sharon Tate to me.  One of her co-stars compared her beauty to that of Elizabeth Taylor but with her long hair, big bright eyes, and smile, she puts me in mind of Sharon more than Taylor although both were very beautiful just in different ways.

Photo Comparison of the Week and Others Who Look Like Sharon...

Here is our photo comparison of the week:

I know we have discussed before how it would be interesting if Keira Knightly played Sharon in a movie and I found this stunning photo of her with ash blonde hair reminiscent of Sharon:

Speaking of others who look like Sharon, in the news a Julianne Moore series of ads that also brings Sharon to mind has been banned in Venice, Italy.  I wonder what Sharon would think of this?

And a Sharon and Roman fan recently told me about a model named Snejana Onopka who, they tell me looks like a combination of Sharon Tate, Nastassja Kinski and Emmanuelle Seigner.  (I would also add that she also resembles "What?" Polanski star Sydne Rome.)  She was wondering if Roman Polanski had ever seen her and how interesting it would be if Polanski cast her in one of his future projects?

Keira on the Elle cover for March.

Sharon Tate look-a-like, Keira Knightly appears on this month's March edition of Elle magazine.  She has appeared on Elle before and I found a quote from her that was interesting:

Asked if the Oscar nomination for "Pride and Prejudice" had changed her life?

Knightly: "For ages and ages, everybody was going, 'Oh, she's just a pretty face.  She absolutely can't act.'  And I was going, 'Well, maybe they're right; I don't know.'  So that (Oscar nod) at least shut them up for a while."

This is the magazine that the quote comes from.

This reminds me of some of the people who have said the same thing about Sharon.  'Oh, she's just a beautiful face, she never could act.'  I really genuinely think that had Sharon lived, she could have proven all these people wrong too.  But, unfortunately, we'll never know.  I think she did well in the films she did make, don't get me wrong.  But I think she would have really shown us so much more.  She certainly was on her way up and out of the contract with Ransohoff so she could do more classy films like "Tess" to showcase her acting talent.

Some have mentioned to me lately that they think if any actress should ever play Sharon in a movie then it should be Keira Knightly.  So I searched the internet and found some nice comparsion photos.  Let me know what you think?
