Opening Today is a family drama movie to watch out for after the 2000 Filipino movie masterpiece (Tanging Yaman) by Laurice Guillen, - Sa'yo Lamang Movie.

Dianne Alvaro (Bea Alonzo) seems to have a happy family. She and her mom (Lorna Tolentino) just bought a house for them, her younger siblings are doing great at school, and her boyfriend for two years is already preparing for their future together. But everything in her life shatters when her dad, Franco (Christopher de Leon), returns after ten years of being with his mistress.

Petrang Kabayo kicks off the set

Viva Films has released some tidbits on the upcoming movie Petrang Kabayo on their official website.And I quote:

Viva Films offered Vice Ganda the remake of the 1980s film “Petrang Kabayo”.“Perfect timing”. Direk Wenn Deramas proudly told Viva that the idea emerged in the perfect time, with the discovery of the pure talent of Vice Ganda. The character suits Vice Ganda’s charisma in launching his first ever-solo movie.

“Minsan meron kang i-la-launch na tao sa maling panahon, tapos after 20 years, tsaka naaapreciate yung pelikula. Hindi ko naman pwedeng ipagawa sa kanya ang Kambal sa Uma dahil walang makakaappreciate na daga siya, diba. So, kabayo, ginawa lang naming pelikula”, wittingly stated by Direk Wenn Deramas.

Months ago, Vice Ganda announced in his noontime show, “Showtime”, that he will be starring the lead role in the 1980s film, “Petrang Kabayo”. Now, the comedian-host has resumed filming the scenes of his first major film with Direk Wenn Deramas.

Jose Mari Viceral, popularly known as Vice Ganda, told Viva that the remake of Petrang Kabayo is different from Roderick Paulate’s original film. Besides the transformation, he assured that people would be delighted with hilarious one-liners and jokes.

Petrang Kabayo is the 80’s film of the rude Petra who was condemned into a white horse as Silveria, the goddess of horses cursed him because of his rude behavior.

Vice Ganda reflected on the remake, “Marami akong natutunan na nangyari sa buhay ko na nakita ko dito sa pelikula na hindi ko napapansin na nangyayari sa buhay ko, dito ko lang narealize sa pelikulang ito.”

The Showtime resident judge relates his film debut with his noontime show “Showtime” in performing his role in the film. “...sa Showtime ganun din, kung ano ang intensyon at purpose ng movie, kailangan iserve namin.”

Petrang Kabayo will definitely pull you off your chair this September.

[starttext]Jose Mari Vicera, commonly known as "Vice Ganda" is on the title role for the remake of the 90's fantasy movie "Petrang Kabayo".First role played by Roderick Paulate, Vice Ganda said in an interview and I quote "Nababagabag ako, hindi na ako nakakatulog masyado, lalo na couple of weeks ago, napanood ko ‘yong Petrang Kabayo sa Cinema 1. Ang galing galing ni Roderick Paulate kaya sabi ko, hindi ko pwedeng gawin ‘yan kasi hindi ko matutumbasan ‘yan kaya kailangan mag-isip ako ng sarili kong eksena".

Vice, as we all know has garnered popularity on the undisputed noontime show "Showtime" and is considered to as the only "It gay" in the showbiz industry.It all started when Director Wenn Deramas texted Vice about the movie remake of Petrang Kabayo! (Ayan, Vice may nag text!).Quite suddenly, the director tried to contact Viva and then they said a big "YES" for the remake of the pinoy movie "Petrang Kabayo".

"Nagsimula sa tukso, ngayon, pelikula na siya. Noong una, natawa ako sa text ni direk Wenn kasi lagi naman kaming nagbibiruan. Sabi niya, nag-meeting na kami ng Viva at pumayag na sila at ikaw na. Doon ako natulala,"  he recalled
