The London 2012 olympics Festival Full schedule announced








The full schedule for the London 2012 Festival has been announced today (29-04-2012), having 12,000 events and performances at 900 venues across the United Kingdom.





Noisettes Shingai Shoniwa and Dan Smith announced the full programme for the London 2012 Festival at Tower Bridge.
Noisettes announce the full programme for the London 2012 Festival, celebrating the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will started from 21 June to 9 September 2012 and will perform leading artists from around the world.
In the biggest festival the UK has ever seen, more than 25,000 famous artists from around the world will unite from 21 June to 9 September to celebrate London olympics 2012, with more than 10 million free tickets available to the public.
Great stars including Damon Albarn, Daniel Barenboim, Cate Blanchett and Gustavo Dudamel will be particpating, with all 204 competing Olympic countries represented and a total of 130 world premieres.

A musical focus

The Festival will starts on Midsummer’s Night with an open-air show set against the backdrop of Stirling Castle in Scotland, featuring superstar conductor Gustavo Dudamel.Over 160,000 free tickets are available for concerts in six Thames side locations for BT River of Music, while 100,000 music fans are expected for BBC Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend starring Jay-Z and Rihanna.
The musical theme continues with Peace One Day’s Global Truce Countdown concert in Derry-Londonderry as well as one-day music festival Traction, which features music and performance collaborations from across Europe.
The Festival will also see Wallace and Gromit make their BBC Proms debut with Wallace’s Proms commission ‘My Concerto in Ee, Lad’.
Ruth Mackenzie, Cultural Olympiad and London 2012 Festival Director, said: ‘The London 2012 Festival will be the largest cultural celebration in our lifetime.
With new performance from the best musicians, comics, artists, film makers and more, there will be arts events taking place in all places all over the UK that will showcase the best in international culture when the eyes of the world are on us this summer.

Unique experiences

A host of BBC Comedy stars including Stephen Fry and Tim Minchin will celebrate the UK’s comic talent with appearances all over the country, while Stonehenge will be transformed in a once in a lifetime free fiery spectacular created by French outdoor wizards Compagnie Carabosse.
At 8am on 27 July 2012, 'Work No. 1197: All the bells in a country rung as quickly and as loudly as possible for three minutes' by Turner Prize winning artist Martin Creed will be performed by thousands of people across the UK to celebrate the first day of London 2012.
Elsewhere, Jeremy Deller’s complete ‘bouncy castle’ version of Stonehenge will tour the nation, giving families a great experience of this historic landmark.
Big Dance 2012 Olympics will see a world record attempt for the largest Bollywood dance performance at Cardiff Mela, while an open-air showcase of community dance skills takes place at Big T Dance in Doncaster city centre.
