After serving the country for about nine years, Climax Lawrence has decided to call it a day. Climax's contribution to the Indian Footballing circuit immense as he has been the heart of Indian midfield since Stephen Constantin's days.

Climax however did not received the best of the farewells as he believed he should have been made aware of the team selection for AFC Challenge Cup 2012. He told that he was mulling about the idea of retiring from International Football since the recently concluded SAFF Cup. It was Savio Medeira, the current national team coach, who was quoted saying that Climax still has few years of football left in him. This prompted Climax to delay the plan. But later, he came to know that he was not picked in the 30 member probables for the AFC Challenge Cup 2012.

Climax will however continue to play for his club Dempo SC under Armando Colaco.
