The agent of Benfica midfielder Nicolas Gaitan has suggested that his client “would like” to join Manchester United in the summer, after being linked with a switch to Old Trafford in recent months.

Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be keen on boosting his midfield options in the upcoming transfer window, especially with the likes of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs entering their late thirties, whilst Tom Cleverley and Anderson are yet to hold down a place in the starting XI.
Now Gaitan’s agent has confirmed his client’s interest in moving to the Premier League, suggesting the Argentine would be relish the chance to join the Red Devils.
Jose Ibarren said: "Nicolás likes Manchester United a lot – he would like to play for Manchester United.
“If there is an offer for him Nicolás would be happy to listen and negotiate.”
While United have denied interest in securing Gaitan’s signature, if the club were to sign the player, it is believed Fabio da Silva could move the other way on loan.
